Chandranahan Trek
It is placed on the South-Eastern inclines of the main Himalaya in the territory to the North-West of Rohru in Himachal Pradesh. Chandra Nahan Glacier is likewise helped by different little tributary glaciers. The proplar Chandra Nahan lake libel in it and it feeds the waterway Pabbar. Chandra Nahan lake is approachable just to experienced trekkers and nourished by an arrangement of springs. Chandra Nahan glacier is encompassed by high climbing crests. The rise of Chandra Nahan glacier is more than 6,000 meters.
There are about 7 lakes, and covering all the lakes would depends on how fast a person can walk as we need to reach back at camp.

Tucked away in the Pabbar Valley, Chandranahan lake is one of the most beautiful lakes located amidst the snowy mountains at an elevation of approximate 4,000 meters above sea level.
If you want to reach Chandranahan Lake, one has to reach Rohru at a distance of 120 km from Shimla.The trek to Chandranahan lake starts from a quaint village called Janglik village.
If you didn’t know the lake is the source of the PabbarRiver and is located on the southeastern slopes of the Himalayas. The lake is considered extremely sacred.
Many will be surprised that Devta Shikru Maharaj has its origin here and tends to visit the lake for a ritual bath, once in every year.
It’s a lesser traversed trail taken by the Adventurers to witness the shimmering lake because of the arduous route.
Considered a trekker’s paradise, Chandranahan lake is relatively unexplored.
While treading through the route of Janglik, the village boasts about the carpeted wildflowers, alpine forests, verdant grasslands.
Trekkers will get to witness the awe-inspiring snow-clad mountains of Pabbarvalley.
Itinerary
Day 1
Shimla to Janglik (2804 M) - 150 km Drive
Assemble in Shimla early morning (by 8 AM) and board your vehicles for the drive to Janglik. We drive along Pabbar River through the mixed forest. Villages with beautiful Himachal homes & step fields of wheat adorn the sides of the road. From Chirgaon onwards the road condition is bad. The road crosses the Pabbar river at Tonglu & then climbs to Janglik. The entire drive takes about 8-9 hours.
Day 2
Janglik to Dayara (3366 M), 7.7 Kms, 5-6 Hours.
We cross through the village homes. Within half an hour we are past the village. The trail is steep initially. After you have climbed considerably, halt to get a good view of the valley. Spot Janglik, Tonglu & other nearby villages from here. The trail enters the forest and turns gradual. Walking under the shade of trees after a steep climb is a welcome change. The views
along the trail are captivating. The trail enters & comes out of the forest a couple of times till we finally arrive at our destination for the day. Overnight camping.
Day 3
Dayara to Litham (3533 M), 5-6 Kms, 4-6 Hours.
Get up early to catch the view of golden rays of sun falling on the grass in the meadow. Enjoy the view with a hot cup of tea. Today's trail majorly constitutes of forests, meadows & gushing streams of water. We walk through the meadows towards the Gunas Pass. After we cross a steam, the view of the Dhauladhar range is captivating. A few minutes after we enter the forest of Bhoj trees (Silver Birch). After a while, we come across another stream. Cross it & get your first view of Litham. We would walk in a gorgeous meadow. Litham is a beautiful campsite.
Day 4
Litham to Chandranahan and Return to Camp (4225 M),
7 Kms, 4-6Hours.
Trek towards the snout of the waterfall from where the stream emerges. The trek is a moderate climb. The closed alpine valley with snow patches all round is a treat. It is a steep descent from the lake to Litham.
Day 5
Litham to Dayara (11075 feet) 5 -6 Kms, 4-6 Hours.
A gradual descent through the meadows or forest section and camping at the beautiful meadows of Dayara Bugyal.
Day 6
Dayara - Janglic (2810 M), 7.7 Kms, 5-6 Hours.
Onward to Shimla - 150 km Drive
Day 7
Buffer Day
This will only get used if unexpected and unforeseeable conditions present themselves at the last minute preventing us from reaching our destination as planned. You are advised to keep a buffer day in your travel plan.
